Schulte Hospitality Group Announces Wally Brown as Vice President of Accounting

(LOUISVILLE, KY) –Wally Brown joined Schulte Hospitality Group on September 21, 2015 as Vice President of Accounting. His background includes over 20 years of audit, tax and consulting experience, primarily in the arena of public accounting.


Prior to joining Schulte, Wally spent the prior 13 years with a large, regional CPA & Advisory firm in the Louisville, KY area. Wally is a Certified Public Accountant, who graduated with a Master of Tax Accounting degree from the University of Alabama in 1994. He also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Western Kentucky University.


Wally and his wife, Tomara, currently reside in Louisville, Kentucky. Their elder son, Elliott, is a sophomore at DuPont Manual High School, and their younger son, Max, is in 6th grade at Meyzeek Middle School.

Schulte Hospitality Group is pleased to announce the nearing completion of the $4.7 million renovation to the 175 room DoubleTree by Hilton located on Australian Avenue in West Palm Beach. The hotel is celebrating by hosting a Re-Grand Opening Party on Thursday, May 21st from 5:30pm-7:30pm. Guests are invited to celebrate the hotel’s new modern look and enjoy drinks, appetizers and tour the new guest rooms and public spaces.
The renovation includes all guest rooms, Fitness Center, a Business Center, new Made Market restaurant and lobby space for guests. It also renovated its facilities for meeting events up to 12 attendees. Schulte Hospitality Group took over operation of the hotel in May 2014.

Ray Mitchell joined Schulte Hospitality Group on September 29, 2014 the Company’s Chief Human Resources Officer. His background includes over 20 years of progressive, human resources leadership experience and 15 years of hospitality/restaurant experience.
Mitchell has held several head of HR roles spanning multiple industries such as healthcare, financial services and retail. Most recently, Mitchell worked as the Chief People Officer for a regional restaurant franchise operating 200 restaurants among 6 national brands. He recently concluded a second term serving on the Board of Directors for Portland Christian School.
Mitchell is a certified Professional of Human Resources, and has upheld this certification since 1998. He graduated with a Master of Science in Human Resources Leadership from Sullivan University in 2012 and holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from McKendree College.

Schulte Hospitality Group today announced the promotion of Keith Alexander to Vice President of Operations effective immediately. As a seasoned hotelier, Mr. Alexander will help guide and oversee the company’s operational functions at the property level and ensure that the company continues to achieve Best in Class results for our investors. Keith brings 20 years of experience to the position, including extensive operational experience as a Regional VP of Operations for Schulte as well as General Manager and Managing Director positions for Schulte Hospitality, Associated Hotels, Noble Investment Group, and GF Management.

As Vice President of Operations, Keith will work very closely with our Chief Operating Officer and President/CEO. Schulte Hospitality announced the addition of two SpringHill Suites to their hotel management portfolio. The SpringHill Suites Burr Ridge and SpringHill Suites Elmhurst, both in the Chicago area, were acquired by SHG SCG Ventures, L.P., a joint venture portfolio between Schulte Hospitality Group and Starwood Capital Group, on December 16th.
Both hotels feature 128 guest suites, small meeting facilities and spacious breakfast and lobby area. The new ownership plans on an estimate $2.0 million dollar renovation for both hotels by the end of 2014.

The Renaissance Hotel Savery in Des Moines Iowa is the latest hotel to join the Schulte Hospitality Group portfolio.
The Renaissance Des Moines is a historic landmark in Des Moines and was originally opened in 1919 on the site of a previous hotel. Originally known as the Hotel Savery and located in downtown Des Moines central to the city’s government, arts and entertainment and business districts, the hotel features BOS with a contemporary Midwest cuisine and the Coda Lounge. In addition, the hotel offers several banquet spaces for meetings and conferences, banquets and weddings.
SHG SCG Ventures, L.P., a joint venture between Schulte Hospitality Group and Starwood Capital Group, acquired the hotel December 10th from Savery Hospitality. Schulte Hospitality CEO Darryl Schulte stated ” the hotel offers a unique lodging experience and compliments our growing full service portfolio”. The hotel will undergo an estimated $6 million renovation in 2014.

The Residence Inn Salisbury is the latest addition to the Schulte Hospitality Group portfolio during a rapid time of growth.
The 84 room extended-stay hotel has been acquired by SHG SCG Ventures, a joint venture between Schulte Hospitality Group and Starwood Capital, and make the total number of hotels in the venture at ten.

The Courtyard by Marriott Gulfport Beachfront is the latest hotel to be added to the Schulte Hospitality Group portfolio. The 148 room beach front hotel originally reopened in 2006 after Hurricane Katrina had come through and and almost completely demolished the hotel.
The hotel features deluxe guest room accommodations, 7,500 square feet of meeting space and a magnificent lobby and is located just across the street from the beach.
